Service Description

Sewing basics is the perfect class for you to jump in as a beginner, or continue adding to your tool box as a sewist. In this edition of sewing basics, we'll be sewing up this cute and functional wine/bottle bag. I personally love this project because it makes the perfect gift that can be used again and again. Add a beautiful bottle of bubbles and you're good to go! I have made countless wine bags to gift to friends, family, teachers, and myself. Skills covered: sewing seams, finishing techniques, boxed corners, sewing in straps, sewing a hemline, and reinforcing seams for sturdy construction. You'll be straight stitching, zig zagging, and bar tacking it up with beautiful contrast threads that will make your project pop! All materials covered in class fee. You will be working with high quality waxed canvas or dry oilcloth as the bag main and cotton for the accent. A variety of fabric choices will be available -- both holiday and non-holiday. We provide top of the line Bernette b05 Academy machines and all sewing tools in our workshop space. When you sign up for our class, all you need to bring is yourself -- we provide the rest! Participants are welcome to bring their own sewing machine if they are already well familiarized and able to run their machine independently. Need help with your machine? Set up a 1-hr machine know-how for $45. Email to inquire.
